Enjoy Local Festivities
Annual events kick off in February with the Winter Carnival followed in March with the Winter King Tournament. These events continue to include the Shorebird Festival, Food Truck Festival, Harborfest, the Peony Festival, 4th of July Activities, the Elks Salmon Derby and conclude with the Nutcracker Faire.

Homer is HOME to many craft breweries, meaderies and a local winery in addition to the famous Homer Spit’s shops and food stops. Galleries are numbered in the double digits and the musical community has events at Alibi, Alice’s and the Porcupine Theater. In the Summer, the Pier One Theater has ongoing live performances.

Explore Our Alaskan Coastline

If adventure is what you’re looking for, there are many options in our surrounding area: Sightseeing, bear viewing, or hire a water taxi to the Park across the Bay to Glacier swim. Second to fishing, Guests favorites include a tour by boat or kayaking along the stunning Alaskan coastline at Kachemak Bay State Park. Try a nature walk with the Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies in the area around the Bay.

Enjoy walking and biking on Homer Spit, a long, strip of land that extends 4 miles into the Bay with beautiful beaches to enjoy a campfire and shoreline fishing. Explore the scenic wetland trails around Wynn Nature Center. In the winter, (and a few dark summer nights) stargaze for the Aurora Borealis or hop on the cross-country ski trail right across the road from us. Regardless of your appetite for Alaska, drop your anchor here for a one-of-a-kind experience.
